The Flagship initiative is a national project promoted by Innosuisse, the Swiss innovation agency. Innosuisse webpage The project aims to improve access to information for people with disabilities. The project is divided into 5 sub-projects: Text simplification (in FALC) Translation into sign language Evaluation of sign language learned by a hearing person Audio description of video content Vocalized subtitling For more informations about the global project, please see this page (available in English and German only) Here we are interested in project 4: Audio description We want to create a program that can visualise a scene and describe it for people with a visual impairment. The programme would be used by SWISSTXT, which is a subsidiary of SRG SSR and provides, among other things, AD content on Swiss channels.
