Computer vision algorithms (CVA) are digital assistants that automatically recognize and evaluate certain information through a camera.
Icare has developed solutions adapted to the identification and automatic decoding of vehicle license plates. The partner company “om computer” has been integrating these solutions for many years in its software which is currently deployed and used by the majority of cantonal police forces in Switzerland.
Current CVA have limitations and their optimization requires expensive and complex development.
To remedy this, Icare is currently developing, with “om computer”, a new version of its optical decoder, based on deep learning, which offers recognition performance close to that of humans. Through offline processing only, this solution is
compatible with the legislation in force, concerning data protection.
This solution, which is independent of the equipment used, is initially intended for the Swiss, European and international markets.
